God in the Wind: Why It’s Better to Seek Clarity Over Predictability

Stop asking the Universe for a map and start asking for a compass.

Happy January, my sacred Sanctuary sib!

How is your "structure" holding up?

The last time I was in your inbox, we talked about building a life that can hold the all: the joy, grief, as well as the beautiful "foolishness" in between.

But once you have the building, you have to talk to the “Architect.”

I’ve noticed that when we’re in a season of transition (especially at the start of a new calendar year), we tend to get really anxious about predictability. We want to know exactly what’s going to happen, when it’s going to happen, and how it’s going to look when it gets here.

But here’s the thing: The Universe doesn't really do "predictability."  It does Clarity, however.

What’s the difference, you ask? Happy to break it down for ya. ;)

Let’s get clear on the important distinction between the two ideas and why being "specific" with the Divine is the key to maintaining your peace when the winds of change start blowing.

The Trap of Predictability

As a recovering perfectionist, I can personally attest to the frequent mistake of equating predictability with peace.

Can you relate to this?

We think to ourselves, if we can just map out the next twelve months with perfect precision, then everything will be okay; we’ll finally be able to breathe.

But being obsessively tied to predictability is a cage. It doesn't allow for growth, for miracles, or for the "Always in All ways" multiplicity of who you are.

Peace isn't found in knowing the future; it’s found in the space between clarity and consistency.

God in the Wind

I’ve been reflecting on this idea of the Divine being like the wind.

You can’t see where the wind starts or where it ends. You can’t predict its exact path or hold it in your hands to study it. But you can feel its direction. You can see its effects.

…And you can certainly use it to sail.

Clarifying Clarity

One of the things I’m learning in this life is that Clarity, as with everything else, is NOT a static subject nor a singular event.

Clarity is ongoing and there’s different levels to this ish.

There’s the clarity of things I know and clarity of things I don’t, if that makes sense.

And if I’m 100% real, I don’t ever really not know.

Some things I may not yet be ready to accept that I know or what I know may not yet be within the realms of my complete cognitive understanding but I still KNOW it, ya know?

There is a knowing present even when circumstances are chaotic af — and that’s another level of clarity.

Then there’s the clarity you experience when your senses and spirit have been sharpened to where you’re more acutely aware of everything you’re experiencing.

As well as the clarity that comes when that last lil epiphany or insight clicks into place and it’s like aha! finally, I KNEW it — that confirmation that you already expected but now finally have.

Part of these multiple shifting levels of clarity entails as well as requires mucho, mucho patience, openness and curiosity.

And also specificity which comes from the open & curious trial by error experimentation you do simply by living.

The more you know the more, you don’t know, right?

So as soon as you know what you know you must apply it intentionally and deliberately, directly utilizing/verbalizing that specific understanding.

The Power of Being Specific

However, don’t confuse being "specific" with the Universe with demanding a certain outcome by next Tuesday.

It’s actually about being crystal clear on the frequency you want to live in.

Instead of saying, "I need this specific job to feel secure," try being specific about the feeling: "I am calling in a career that honors my sovereignty, compensates me abundantly, and allows me to work in excited ease."

When you are clear on the essence, the Universe is free to bring you something even better than whatever you could have "predicted."

Nourishing the Connection

As you move through this week and month, I encourage you to notice where you are trying to force a "map" onto a situation that just needs a "compass."

Let your troubles blow away with the wind. Stop fighting the direction and start leaning into the clarity…even when that clarity feels uncertain.

You are meant to be here. You are meant to be whole. You are meant to be at PEACE.

So, talk to me my beloved SOUL*1 sibling: Where are you holding on to a "how" that’s actually blocking your "what"?  What is one area of your life where you're ready to trade predictability for Divine clarity?

Reply and let me know, I really appreciate reading all of your SOULful shares.

Until the next time our spirits cross paths…May you thrive in absolute Peace, Power & Pleasure.

Love,

Jasmin 😘💜
